To achieve the effect, first I combined two of my photos using Photoshop, manipulating brightness and contrast. Then I printed the image and performed gel transfer. After that, I scanned the photo using and made some minor edits in Photoshop. I placed the gel transfer on a light table and photographed it. Additionally, I took photos of the gel transfer before any changes were made. I also printed the scanned version of the gel transfer and the photographs to compare the results.

The original image with physical gel transfer (left) has deteriorated because the gel dried, but had a very nice 3-D texture when it was fresh.
